A Poljot Chronograph was made for Barcelona Olympics 1992. The movement is Poljot 3133 23 jewels, based on Valjoux 7734 Swiss movement. The Russian watchmakers bought that 7734 17 jewels movement and added 6 jewels to it.
Another Poljot Chronograph 3133 23 jewels movement, made for 1991 Tokio Olympics. The 3133 movement is based on Valjoux 7734 17 jewels movement, which they did put 6 extra jewels to it.
This watch has a very interesting engraving on the back: "überreicht Stellv. d.MfNV, Chef Volksmarine DDR" (Given (by/to?) Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps (highest possible rank) DDR Marine) This watch was recently bought from a widow to a Swedish Marine Soldier. She remembers her husband getting this watch probably in San Diego, California during a Penthalon her husband Allan Viberg was competing in during the 1960ies 1970ies aproximately. It sounds unlikely that the DDR Volksmarine where invited to compete in the USA but it's certainly possible that he got it there as a friendly gift. Mr. Viberg was very prolific as a Swedish Marine Penthalon champion.
The watch is in as new condition and is in itself a very interesting watch produced in then East Germany.
